Just drove a Charger SRT-8...Pontiac NEEDS a car like this...
Big,
Why the hell do you ALWAYS have to be a GM nuthugger instead of being just a tad bit more objective? Not EVERY Grand Prix is a piece, nor is EVERY Grand Prix flawless...every car line can have issues. I bought the Comp G BECAUSE I know from personal experience the W Body is a solid, reliable car that's pretty fun to drive, and in supercharged form has a somewhat-respectable resale value down the road.
Did I say EVERY Comp G rattles? No...but mine does. "Cancel me out" if you prefer, but that doesn't change the premise. If anything, I've previously been accused of being too short-sighted when it came to issues with GM products, so don't act like I'm bashing here, ok???
For christ sakes, I SELL Chrysler products, yet I BUY GM products, so gimme a break will ya???? GM does have a history for having its cars end up with trim rattles. I've owned 8 GM products in all, and not ONE has been rattle free...some starting as little as 15k miles, as this one. My '01 had an obnoxious sunroof rattle at 20k.
Can you find a rattly Toyota? I'm sure you can. But give it a rest with the nuthugging. I make an observation that the SRT-8 makes a supercharged GP feel like a Corolla...you come out swinging. I make an observation about a rattle...off you go again.
Give it a rest, will ya? Sorry to get off topic, to the rest of you...

And Good Ph.D, the SRT8s do haul. Drive one, you will be surprised.
No I wouldn't, Ive driven the regular R/T and was fairly impressed, so I would expect it to be moreso.
I was just a bit confused as to how we can seem to decide whether or not it sucks because its not a squish you to the seat rattletrap f-car, or because its not a BMW which if you ask me, still prioritizes luxury over any real performance aspects...

What can I expect after 16 years and 111k miles? Then again, it rattled when new, more than likely
I've owned my share of third gens!
Maybe YOU need to do some reading comprehension homework.
No, that's not what I meant. Go reread my original comment. I don't mean "dependability", I mean "not feeling like a cheap piece of crap that's ten years behind its competitors". An ill-fitting polyester suit jacket that will last twenty years is not of higher "quality" than a wool jacket custom made to fit me, even if the wool jacket will only last ten.

(Shows measured study of buyers' delight with their new vehicles, where on average, Pontiacs did better than Dodge, Cadillac did better than Honda, Nissan, Scion, Volvo and Toyota, and the Pontiac G6 was the highest-ranked midsize car (along with VW Jetta)

). But if it makes some happy, well that's great too!If all you want is a kum-bi-ya thread, maybe you should state that in your opening post
Don't need a kum-bi-ya thread, but it would be nice if someone makes an objective statement, you didn't have to run them over. Every time something negative is said about a GM product, you do that...and I'm not the first person to remind you of that.
Perhaps you should practice taking a little criticism in stride. Coming to a site like this and complaining about Pontiacs and/or GM quality is going to draw return comments (does that surprise you?). And OBTW - your statement may have appeared objective to the casual observer, but its implication was subjective and open to challenge.
