"The Judge" is back at GM...

Posted by NSAP at GMInsideNews....What happened with the SLP trademark? I thought they had it.

Truth be told, I'd rather it be in GM hands right now.

what do "the judge", SLP and this mess of characters in your post have to do with each other.... or anything for that matter?

I think he means that they are bringing the name back, at least that's what I can extrapolate from the post.

I'd rather see a new name than Judge.

It means that GM owns the trademark for "The Judge"

There was a few posts and some news a few months back that said SLP had registered the rights to the "Judge" name for GTO's and that they were going to make an updated version of the car like the late model F-bodies Camaro SS and Firebird Firehawk. There was some agruement between GM who wanted the name for itself and SLP who wanted to market this product. The catch is you don't get in GM's way if you expect to do business with them like SLP was proposing to do. Especially in SLP's current state. So this just shows that GM indeed does own the name. Now if they want to use it and what they do with it is anyones guess. I tend to think it will be fun and good for the GTO no matter what.

I am hoping for a mid-level model called "The Bailiff" .

I swore I saw a post a few months back that said SLP owned the rights to "Judge." Does this mean that GM owns the rights to "The Judge?"

I would rather they called it the Judge. Otherwise it would be like GM bringing back the camaro and not the Z28 or SS.

The Judge sounds a heck of a lot better than GTO GXP!!!!! I think I remember reading how Uncle Bob didnt want to use The Judge name. I would say it is 100% correct to follow your heritage and dust off The Judge nameplate.

How about "The WAPNER"

To the idea of bringing back "The Judge" name I have but one response....

"Objection!"
