Ya, we got the GTP last November for my wife...

Too soon to "miss" the Monte... I do think I will miss the heated seats and OnStar though... possibly the sunroof too, but the drivetrainin the GTO shold dimish that nicely!

Pics to come.

On the way back to the office, I stopped at Subway to get a sandwich... I watched 3 different people come up to the car, and walk around it checking it out whiel I was in line!

Didn't expect that, to be honest.

How about ride quality? Is it as stiff/tough/tight inside as others have said? How's the interior stuff (radio, road noise etc..)?

Thats an awesome color combo, I looked at one back in early summer with that combo, but it was a auto. The color combo would be my top choice. I was thinking about test driving a yellow GTO 6-speed at a dealer a few counties away this weekend if its nice. But I am kind of afraid to, if you know what I mean.

I was wondering about how much a monthly payment would be, if you don't mind sharing. I know that is kind of personal, so I understand if you don't answer.

Nice, Congrats.

If I was going to get one I don't know if I would hold out for the 2005 or not. 2004 are just too much of a steal.

GTO is a very sweet car, M6 is so much smoother shifting than my Camaro SS. Back seat is nice too, roomy, I love how it has the vents back there.

GTO is the closest thing to a CTSv coupe you can get. It actually it feels a lot like an M3 with a real back seat and some torque.

That's an easy fix. That was my first fall mod on the 99 SS. Just had it redone when I upgraded to the fancy T/A seats.

Congrats Darth! See if you can find out how to make that shift indicator light next to the "7" on the tach work. I've searched every way possible with no success.

Congrats on the nice ride Darth! Tell me, how do you think it pulls compared to your old '99 Z28? Looking forward to the pics.

Congrats! Very nice car. I test drove one, in that same color combo, since that is my favorite. The blue leather is awesome. As for the wheels, I replaced the wheels on my Formula... but I would keep the GTO wheels if I got one. They are actually a pretty good looking wheel IMHO.

Dayum, if I'd have known there was so much love here, I'd have said something when I got my new(er) car .

Great news Darth, now you can truly rule the galaxy in your new ride. Nice car, I looked at them pretty hard myself, but just couldn't make the trunk work w/ what I generally have to haul around. You are officially on the clock to provide a full road test.

Re: It's official... Darth has a new Tie Fighter!!

Thanks for all the replies!

Trying to remember some of the thing asked...

The ride quality is nice so far... slightly harsher than I expected with IRS, but then again, I am used to riding in my much softer Monte SS, so I take that with a grain of salt.

Acceleration wise, I have to say it is right there with my 99 Z28 M6... I havent really beat it yet, lol, but after I get a few hundred miles on the clock I do a hard run through the gears!

The only thing, so far, that I am a little unhappy with is it seems the steering is a little slow for me... but, again, there's that adjustment period to a new car... I also REALLY wish it had a dead pedal, though I hear that is added to the 05's, so maybe I can do a retrofit.

I snapped some pics tonight... will try ot upload tomorrow!
