Congrats on the car. The color combo is what I would have picked (behind that sinister looking purple).

I'm still going to attempt to hold out till the 2005s hit the lot. I figure by then, the '04s sales will stagnate, plus be a 1 year old car.

Should get some real good deals on the "boring" '04s when they are sitting next to bigger braked, red "GTO" calipered, hood scooped, bigger tired, '05s.

 

Awesome! Thats the same color combo i want to get next summer. I'm thinking it may be just a tad bit slower than the LS1 fbodys because of the higher weight (even though they are rated higher, i think they are dynoing at about the same rwhp and torque). Theyre supposed to be awesome cars. Havwe fun with your new Tie

We just moved into the house about 3 weeks ago actually... took 7 months to complete. doh.

I wanted to take a pic of the GTO in front of the house, but unless I drive it into the mud-pit of a front yard, that isn't gonna happen till next year!

Hey Darth, very nice car!!! Congrats!!! Like Z284ever said, I'm glad you posted here too; I would, this part of the board is like "home". If GTO was available here, I would have found it hard to resist for this long, but... sometimes it's worth waiting... I went for the new car thing last spring so I'm out of contention for another 3 years, just in time for the "hopefully available everywhere" GTO and/or Camaro.

Looking forward to a review - I hate having to live vicariously through others but..... when it comes to GTO, I have no choice.

Looks good, any plans for some '05 upgrades? RamAir hood or recessed grills? I love how Holden has all the cool leather colors, and top notch quality leather too

I have been barking for new interior colors from GM for a long time... something other than Grey, Dark Grey, and Beige, so that actually was a fairly heavy factor in me deciding to pull the trigger!

Actually, one 05 upgrade I REALLY would like to make, if possible, is the addition on the dead pedal... Probably the least glamourous of all the upgrades, but functional and it gives me something ot rest my left foot on.

Ya, it feel great to be backed up by the LS1 again... I'm just enjoying driving and running through the gears right now.

I really am shocked by the response to the car... ya, a lot of folks dont give it a second glance, but I can honestly say, I get more people actually doing double takes, or actually coming up to look the car over in a parking lot than in any other car I have owned, which include the 99 Z28, the 95 Corvette, the 89 Camaro, etc... I'm sure a lot of that has to do with there not being many on the road, but if people are noticing.... maybe they don't blend in as much as a lot of folks thought.... I think the color helps it stand out a bit too, though...
