How bad is Mitsi behind the scenes? Here's a good idea:

I still think the automotive part of company will be dead by 2006, unless it's parent company buys it up.

Does this maybe help explain the ugly a$$, freaky styling of their entire recent new product line? E.g. They recently took a somewhat unremarkable, but inoffensive looking Galant 4 door which always had a hint of the (old, un-Bangle-ized) BMW 5 series about it, and just recently made it a monstrosity of styling.

Everything they make now is ugly. The (several) Eclipse concept cars they have made have all been worse than the current version also. I would like the 3000gt bought back, but if they wanted to put it in the common style of today there would be no huge st. louis arch spoiler and that was my favorite part about the '97-'99 3000gt.

I believe that the American design team is responsible for the crap they've been selling lately.
What was the date on that article? Last I heard they were in for some rough times, but it should work out in the end. They were going to go from 15 platforms down to 7 and focus on the money makers.

Mitsu advertises that they have the best factory warranty on TV. I wonder how people that buy these cars will feel when they have a few years of warranty time available, but the company is bankrupt?
