Never been over there, but the stories I've heard.. My favorite was a coworker that hopped a ride on the back of a motorcycle.. and the rider rode normally, which means relative breakneck speeds, scraping between cars, jumping over to sidewalks, etc etc.. Then suddenly a cop walked in front of them(well, they were on a sidewalk) and the they hit him, at low speed. The cop raised his stick and was about the give them both a good smack in return, so my coworker raises both hands up to shield himself and yells out, "don't hit me, I'm an American!" which at least made the cop hesitate long enough for the rider to find an opening to leave through.. lol

dents, scrapes, fender benders are common place, and not really a big deal over there.. its impossible to really enjoy cars like we do in the US, cause its instantly going to get banged up.

The minimalist in me sort of likes the interior.

Kinda like returning to the horse and buggy days, minus the horse.

The shifter is ruined, though, after rob's comment...

The front seats look like a kitchen chair.

If you were a first-generation car owner in a country that was until recently dirt-poor, I'm pretty damn sure that you'd buy one of these and think that it beats the hell out of walking.

That would be Tata's hybrid model.

Pretty cool if you could actually buy one here in the US, and have it pass the safety standards.

For the price of a big screen TV, you have very affordable transportation with excellent economy. It's totally not my "cup-of-tea", but for some people it would be awesome.

It is terrible for an urban area though. It would get in the way, run over, and be a hazzard to other drivers.

I'd rather get 8 mpg and keep my self respect.

Give me a break. We live in America not India. I'm sorry they're so behind the times that a Model T could make their new cars look sad.

Considering it cost $2500 for a used 5 year old EZ-GO golf cart I'd say this is a lot of car for the money. http://haneysgolfcars.com/_wsn/page2.html
