I guess there just isn't much market for a FWD minivan based truck

Re: Honda to cut Ridgeline production again
How can this be? I thought it was the most innovative truck on the market and the truck of the year.
It should have won the award for most irrelevant truck of the year. I would love to see this thing cancelled and hopefully the new Avelanche will help this along.

Re: Honda to cut Ridgeline production again
I really despise this truck for some reason. It is not due to the FWD either, because I really like the Dodge Rampage concept.
The Ridgeline is one of the most horribly styled trucks I have ever seen.

Re: Honda to cut Ridgeline production again
It is designed to look like it has a fake midgate. Why use the Avalanche slanted C-pillar if you don't have a mid-gate? Also the slanted bed rails look terrible
The Rampage looks awesome and I hope Dodge builds that.

Re: Honda to cut Ridgeline production again
Actually the ridgeline is well built and drives smooth.
But it is about 3/4 the size it should be.
It also lacks power and seems like the metal used should be thicker. not sure if you know what I mean, but knock your knuckles on the sheet metal and you'll know.

Re: Honda to cut Ridgeline production again
I'm not retyping the numbers all out again... but I've shown this forum more than once that for its size (which is on the larger side of a compact truck), the Ridgeline has a very competetive towing capacity and bed capacity. No it's not a manly man's truck, but it suits the average modern day truck owner very well for their trips to home depot and the lake and whatnot.
Its looks are subjective. I don't think it's ugly but I don't think it looks great either. I actually find the GMT-900 Avalanche to look even more like the Ridgeline this time around than the GMT-800 did, FWIW, and I've never had a problem with the Avalanche's styling, even when it had the body cladding.
Regarding production cuts... maybe they're forseeing the Dodge Rampage as taking some of their consumer base, even though the rampage is actually true FWD and true unibody (not even a supplementary ladder frame chassis and AWD). Should be interesting to see if we hear the same whining about the domestic rampage considering it's everything that you guys complained about in the rampage and so much more.

Re: Honda to cut Ridgeline production again
Would this mean C&D will drop their idiotic 'gotta have' criteria which only seems to help elevate cars they want to win into 1st place?
It would seem to me this isn't turning out to be a 'gotta have' item.

Truck Of The Year!
Concerning the Rampage...unless I'm mistaken, the truck is simply a concept. When they said it was FWD and Hemi equipped, I instantly thought "styling exercise/preview for the next real Ram."

I would say IF Dodge builds one, I would like it far more than the Ridgeline, even if it were FWD due to the real versatility. I also know Dodge would not market it as a full size competitor truck, like Honduh tried with this declining sales vehicle they call a truck
Re: Honda to cut Ridgeline production again
regarding it's size again, get in one and drive it.
I did, it's very small on the inside.
Roomy is the last word I would use to describe it.
In order to be the world beating truck they wanted it to be, it would need to be larger. A 200plus pound person would need to feel comfortable driving it. I was 205 when I drove it, but I am also 6 ft 3 and it was by no means roomy.
