Hmmm... 2003 IROC series
This is pretty odd, sad, and crazy:
They are still using Trans Am's for the IROC series, but from the pictures it doesn't look like they say "Pontiac", "Firebird", or "Trans Am" anywhere on the car....

This is actually the 3rd year in a row they have run the TA bodies with absolutely no support from Pontiac.
I have no idea what their plans are to replace the cars...there really isn't any need since the bodies are paid for. I think they could run generic "late model" stock car bodies just as easily.
The whole IROC car thing is just marketing for whatever manufacturer wants the exposure, but IROC is not what it used to be and the exposure is minimal.
True Value is gone as the title sponsor after this year. Word is the owner of Lowe's Motor Speedway in Charlotte, Humpy Wheeler, is going to sponsor the series through the Zmax snake oil brand he owns. Zmax IROC series....

There a "real" racing series out there that I think GM could get a bigger bang for their marketing buck.
At least Pontiac didn't rename the Trans Am, IROC T/A ...after the series.
