From the looks of it, I'm glad its NOT a Camaro.

But, it was cool that Camaro was prominently featured on the video. It even said the words Camaro.

I wonder if any GM brass read this thread? I hope they'd take note over how excited we got over a 2 second clip of a dashboard. I know I was pretty excited.

 

That's pretty funny that the ad agency, or whoever put together that clip, used a halo car from the competition in it's promo spot.

I wonder if they know how stupid they look to the enthusiast community because they hired an ad agency whose management probably drives S-Class Mercedes and whose production artists probably drive Integras--and are probably recommending their friends buy Camrys and secretly cheering GM's downfall.

Sorry. Sloppy crap like this in a high-profile venue pisses me off.

 

I personally hope they dont pay us too much attention or they'll still be at the drawing board at all times. Given the way things snowball up around here. Nothing they could possibly do would satisfy everyone.

Of course, it took us ... a pretty informed group of enthusiasts.... a decent amount of time effort to figure out what it was.... so 99.99999999999999999999999% of the world probably will never know what happened.

 

Not to mention that the ratings for the All Star game were awful, per usual for that event. Combine that with the fact that the video was a 1 time video introducing the game. Combine those two factors, along with the enthusiast factor already mentioned and its pretty much official that 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999%(Added some 9's) of the population won't realize anything.

The sad thing is, since its not a prototype, why not use a real GM gauge set that looks good, like the Vette or a classic set of gauges like the 67 Firebird?

 

I believe you once said you were in marketing (re: use of the phrase "small block")? I can see why that'd **** you off so much.

 

Damn nice catch! I think we are starved JUST A LITTLE, for another Camaro! If it does come out I hope they don't go just with white, and do more, ie GTO's. Some silver, maybe a lil' use of REAL CF ( I'm a CF junky ) in there, would be really cool.

So the answer to this huge riddle is that Chevy's Marketing team still has a large inability, no, scratch that, a borderline i-just-crapped-in-my-pants-and-i-need-help-because-i-am-mentally-unable-to-accomplish-that-task inability to produce a good promo?

Looks like it is either from a concept (because it does not look production ready), or maybe a styling buck. I am not sure I would read too much into it just yet though...
