well I think they got to do some barganing first before they do that with the CAW...the car might show up but not the name..possibly??

but if things go the way they have been im betting on a later anouncement..they might hint on the name..

I dont think that the CAW cares as long as they are happy in Oshawa, or thats what I understand. Like guionM said:
It's not the CAW itself (they gained more jobs at the Oshawa plant alone than they lost at Ste Therese). It's the local union that can stir things up, putting the Quebec government and the CAW leadership on the spot.

That's why the big hush-hush on the "C" word.

With the plant gone, it seems thay can say the "C" word without walking on eggshells.

BTW, FWIW: I think it's very interesting that Bob Lutz said in a skillful way that Camaro wasn't coming back because "a deal's a deal", as if to smooth concerns about the plant coming down (GM had to agree they wouldn't tear it down for a year after F-body production stopped, and afterwards, demolition had been blocked twice).

But that "Deal" was with the Ste. Therese plant, NOT the CAW itself.

IIRC the earliest we could see a concept would be 06. Could be BS now though.

What would be nice is a concept much like the Mustang did with a concpet model in 05, pre-production in 06, and they start hitting dealer lots by late 06. Id like to see a tasteful 40th anniversery package. Not with the graphics and all that jazz for the 35th.

The way the agreement was written, GM was comitted to produce F-bodies at that factory till 2001, and could only stop production at that plant only if the models were discontinued
They met the time agreement. Wouldn't that alone be enough. (as far as THET plant is concerned)

But don't forget, coudl always just attach Mustangs to the end of a crane and use them as the wrecking *****, that'd work!
