Have to laugh at this one
From the Pontiac Media site concerning the 2006 Solstice:
I think someone got that ratio backwards
Solstice is powered by a 2.4L Ecotec four-cylinder engine that produces 177 horsepower (132 kw) at 6600 rpm and 166 lb.-ft. of torque (225 Nm) at 4800 rpm.* With a curb weight of just 2,860 pounds (1,297 kg), the 2.4L Ecotec engine helps give the Solstice an enviable horsepower-to-weight ratio of nearly 16.2 to 1.
I think someone got that ratio backwards
Re: Have to laugh at this one
Seems to be a lot of retards in the GM press corps these days. First, the Solstice has 47,000 horsepower (according to the published ratio), next the Corvette has a 9.4" diameter steering wheel (Made out of what? Chain?).
Methinks they need to tighten up a bit.

I think somebody should buy that car and then get all pissed and sue GM when their car doesn't have anything close to the 45,000 horsepower or so that it would take to achieve that ratio.
Well either you mod my car to make 45,000 horsepower to meet your advertised specs, and still honor my factory warranty, OR I might just settle with a brand new Z06 when they come out

Re: Have to laugh at this one
"Power to weight ratio" is a term commonly thrown around it seems, even in car rags, when the actual number used is "weight to power" (how many pounds of weight each "horse" must move). It is a common misnomer. No one wants to see a power to weight ratio of 0.0625 hp/lb. So they do the logical math, but still say the generic term: "Power to weight ratio of xx.xx lbs per hp"...
And yes, they should be more careful in marketing, even if it is a common goof. It isn't that much harder to say "weight to power". In fact, I'm pretty sure it has the same number of syllables and everything!

What does that have to do with my post? It was only made in jest.
