I was looking at the new HSV VY cars, and it struck me how much these cars look like the current Pontiac Bonneville up front:

Although I don't think it too good an idea (I think it doesn't match the smooth curves of the rest of the car) & I suspect that w/ Mr' Lutz's dislike of angular lines on vehicles, he wouldn't like it either, but how many of you would prefer this Pontiac-ish front end on the GTO instead of the Pontiac like nose that was on the sketch?

 

Me like! Slap a Pontiac Badge on it and call it a GTO!

 

Definately a better GTO front end than the one in the sketch.

 

No no no. Slap a Chevy badge on it and call it the "new Chevelle".

GM's styling department has seemed to decline in the last few years; look at the Aztek, the Vibe, and that new Cadillac (not the DTS, the other smaller, more square looking one).

I'm sure more abominations await us in the coming years. GO GM STYLING!

 

Oh yeah, I suppose I should post something relevant to the topic. I can definately see the similarities to the Bonneville. I can't decide what's worse, having the new GTO look like the Bonnevile, or having the new GTO look like a Grand Prix/ Grand Am.

 

I really can't see the resemblance, myself.

That said, I think the new look of the HSVs is rather awful, but that's nothing compared to the disaster that is the Bonneville!
