It sold like crap cus dealers were marking it up to the price of corvettes....35K car with a 8K market adjustment. those dealer market adjustments killed the car..
For everthing the car delivered in performance, and build quality.. what was wrong with the 05 GTO??
ohh it didnt look like a GTO..well everyone thinkgs 69 Judge when you say GTO, look to see what the original GTO looked like..plain jane wrapper with a hood scoop and some other treatments. Same thing with this GTO..
got a great car and took it away again.
like the Buick GN the 90 Impala SS heck even the Fiero..

Look up Mustang Cobra and Mustang Mach 1 sales numbers, compare them to GTO sales numbers, and get back to us...

Camaro and a swoopier Monaro sharing is the new plan.
Where that leaves GTO is unknown.

If GM is fast tracking this program ahead of Epsilon II, they know exactly what they are gonna do by now (one would imagine).
I know Guy knows quite a few people in Austraila, so I tend to believe that he would know if VE/Zeta had become the standard Global RWD Platform. With the financial situation, I can not see GM using the more expensive VE as the global RWD platform (after they axed the idea a year ago)? If it is the case someone needs to be fired, because this kind of infighting and delays in getting product to market is what will kill GM. Also, if the Camaro is gonna share a platform with a large sedan, I can not beleive it would take to much to engineer a large coupe since Pontiac already did a bunch of work on this with VE (guess it all depends on how similar the hard points are between Sigma and VE).

The G8 would have been essentially a Commodore with a Poncho grill. The GTO was a series of styling excercises. Engineering was probably limited to computer math.
And oh BTW, regarding your comment in your post Branden, I don't want people trying to turn this into a pissing match between Guy and myself again.

Here's an article from last year about how gm reset the target for GTO to 1k units per month, so it's actually dead on.
