Gto D.n.a
As far as I know, the VT Commodore is based on the same platform as the Opel Omega, and that is where the similarities end. There is alot more changed that the claimed "wheels and bumpers" in the original article posted.
In the article originally posted it said "why does it look like a 90's design", well probably beacuse it IS. For those who don't know the Monaro was originally unveiled at the 1998 Sydney International Motorshow, as the VT Coupe. It is completely Australian designed and shares next to nothing with the Opel. The production Monaro was released near the end of 2001, in Australia.
An article on a website recently said that Holden have a new R&D centre running and they are currently working on models for 2015, so the designs for the cars released in 10 years will already be really 10 years old.

The Monaro will end production for a short time while the GTO is being built. Since the Factory has to be retooled to a point for them to but in the right stuff for the GTOs that are being shipped to the US.
Then they will go back in to production.
Then they will go back in to production.
