Re: GT500 mule info
Everything that has been said officially about the car has said 450+ hp, or more than 450 hp, quite a bit more than 450hp. Yet, you are sure that a boosted 5.4 will "only" have 450 crank hp.
Ok............. whatever.
Z284ever, I can understand the point of a 2-seater sportscar handling better than a 4-seater Ponycar............... however, I don't see it being $7205 better (as tested price of the Z was $41,110, for the Mustang it was $33,905). The Vert Mustang is softer than the coupe also. Also, I think it is kind of a stretch to think that someone who is looking at a $33K vert can even think about cross shopping it with a $41K vert. Most people buying $33K cars are stretching it to get that car. A couple of grand will put them out of the market.......... much less an additional $7K. Its really easy for us to sit here and debate about other peoples money......... but in the real world, it is not nearly as cut and dried.
On this note, I do get a kick out of comparisons between cars, where there is a large price difference. The part I find to be the funniest is when they conclude that they like the higher priced car because it has more amenities............. or fancier interiors............ yet the vehicles are somewhere around $10K difference in price. You just want to scream, DUH!!!! Gee, what a surprise............ the more expensive car has more stuff............ gosh, you guys sure are smart.
Do these writers think we are all idiots???

I might spend $20K on a base Mustang. I might spend $25K on a GT. But there is no frickin' way I'd spend nearly THIRTYFOURGRAND!!! on a brand spankin' new ponycar, that can't take down my 16 year old IROC in the twisties.

What makes you think that? The '03-'04 Cobra outhandled the '02 SS in the twisties even if barely, what makes you think that the new Mustang that is new better in every way handling wise can't do better? Put it this way, it will smoke your old Iroc in the twisties.[

I guess I should have clarified that statement. Yes easy duty for the SC mod motor. What I don't believe is the HP rating the car will have once it is for sale. As a matter of fact I do believe the engine will be rated between 450HP and 475HP, which of course is still very healthy.

[QUOTE=91_z28_4me]I thought the SVT cars were limited productions, am I wrong? Also anyone know the anticipated Z51 production?[/QUOTE}
Believe he was talking about the regular GT compared to the 350Z.

Totally agree. I'll guess a 475hp rating and putting down about 450rwhp => 500 crank.
