The Good News and Bad News On U.S. Fuel-Economy Trends
Eh, I think we should, at least momentarily, scale back on the wars we fight, and take all the military funding to figure out how to create a new energy source and infrastructure that the USA can be self reliant on, and build that out for both military and civilian use. Thats the only way I can ever see it happening, since somebody is just going to have to foot the bill to have it happen on all levels.
Then the military can ramp back, slowly replacing its equipment and fight whatever wars that are deemed necessary, hopefully with reduced energy concerns. (and if they do it right, with much better capabilities and flexability than the rest of the world's military)
Also, hopefully, on the civillian side we can have our cake(big vehicles with all the fluff) and eat it too (cheap energy).
Annnd if its done right and "inhouse", it could push the USA way up front in leading the world in technology and power.
I imagine a world where everything everywhere has a powersource/infrastructure that has "POWERED BY USA" etched in the side.
how cool would that be?
