Was the grille the only change to the 3 pictures?
The first one reminds me of a Cadillac.
The stock one sucks.
But I prefer all black.

Yup that is the only change. The top one is the same as the stock but with the chrome mustache blacked out.

Initially, I felt the same way. But the more i see the Terrain, the more I like it. In fact, maybe I now even prefer it over the Equinox.

When I first saw the GM Terrain in a video, I was all excited about it, until I realized, the video was in the wrong aspect ratio, making it appear wider, lower, and more aggressive than it really was... like this. heh

Do all trim levels of the Ford have plain side window opening molding and body color door handles? (and I suppose no side badge of any sort?)

Am I the only one that thinks Ford mateed the old Escape with a Jeep to get the new Escape? The lines and proportions are very similar.

They're all ugly. The grill doesn't bother me as much as the stupid fender bulges. The Equinox is much better looking IMHO.

I don't think I have seen one. I'd imagine there options form ford

I think Ford did it right because you can kind of choose the amount of crappy chrome cladding you are forced to take. Don't think you can do that with GM.

got to be honest the escape is even worse.
Didn't like the blacked out nose when the Evo X first did it. And don't like it on the Escape either.

The stock version...

If you guys want an organic design, buy the Equinox.

Leave the 'extroverts' and 'aggressive designs' to people like me.

Equinox aside, its something I noticed more about fords then I have GM recently. It will be the same vehicle, but Ford will sell one with full chromed front, or one with little except for the Frod logo.

GM seems to force it on you, and if you get soemthing that is not Chrome, you get Chevy avalanche plastic, not even color matched paint.

I seem to see it on alot of GM, seriously look at it.

Its all a matter of opinion of which you like, but the option is out there for more buyers.

The Terrain would be really attractive with a 'black chrome' option IMO (a la G6 and HHR)

Maybe that would tame it down a bit.
