The big chrome bug-flector is ugly.

I guess it is a matter of opinion. Not that I like the looks of the escape, I don't like it in that picture at all.

It's not just the grille on the Terrain that makes it bad.
It's the blocky, chunkyness of the sides & front.

Ditto. Few problems that I have with its design:

1. Square fenders (or wheel wells).

2. Thickness of the bulges over the fenders. If you replace them with plastic, that makes me think of cheap Avalanche cladding.

The rediculously outa place square hulkster fender flares are what ruin this design from any possible angle . Equinox and Terrian= Beauty and the Beast .

The terrain looks it's best as an equinox... I would definitely buy an equinox, I would not give the terrain a second look... it's THAT goofy/fugly.

I prefer a regular Escape, but if you are comparing the "tougher" looking one I'd take the Escape over the Terrain. I was just posting the "tougher" escape

Their tag line is about as plain as it gets - "Terrain, the new small SUV from GMC"

Come on..
