GM top Exec. don't want to give up anything?

I can't tell for sure if this is real or not... my mom called me to tell me that how is GM worth saving if the top executives don't want to cut off any of their goodies.. as in... private jet fly... 10 thousand dollar dinners... and that they spent millions of GM money just because they can. This is what she tells me the news said...

I really don't believe anything that the news says... but... are the top exec making cutbacks just like everyone else.. or they think that they can keep expending money like they used to just because they are used to fly private jets with strippers and dacing poles in the planes..

He should have done that a while ago. Would help his case somewhat in Washington I think.

You mean like AIG? lol

All of the big 3 CEO's were on tv last night and they said that benefits have been cut across the board from the top down and that spending has been severely cut back. I think they're smart enough not to get caught like AIG did and ruin everything for them.

They probably did take jets to Washington for the hearing, but what else would they do?

To be honest, $1 may be too much for Wagoner.

actually if I recall correctly, when asked about executive compensation, Mullaly and Nardelli said they would work for $1, Wagoner talked around the question.

GM & Ford's Corporate Jets?

http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/WallSt...6285739&page=1

I saw this when getting dressed this morning, Dispite if your for/ against a bailout/ loan- What do you think?

Wagoner's private jet trip to Washington cost his ailing company an estimated $20,000 roundtrip. In comparison, seats on Northwest Airlines flight 2364 from Detroit to Washington were going online for $288 coach and $837 first class.

Ford CEO Mulally's corporate jet is a perk included for both he and his wife as part of his employment contract along with a $28 million salary last year. Mulally actually lives in Seattle, not Detroit. The company jet takes him home and back on weekends.

GM and Ford say that it is a corporate decision to have their CEOs fly on private jets and that is non-negotiable, even as the companies say they are running out of cash.

It appears that the senior management of the automakers simply don't get it," said Schatz.

I'm pretty sure that their safety would be seriously compromised if they flew commercial with all of the loonies in the world now but I do see the point.

I think very few people know who these guys are and if they did fly 1st class with maybe a little security.... They would create a better PR image.

Mullaly is the only guy who deserves a salary - or for that matter - a job.

ehh... I am not too much against a corporate jet....

We have trillions of national debt and the president shuts down entire airports when he comes into town.

Company jet is fine, but i like the idea of all the execs working for $1 or at least a "normal" pay like $100k

Is it me, or is anyone getting tired of the media, looking over important ****, and focusing on little details just to stir **** up?
