Uhh...who wrote that article? I believe the Corvette is also rear-wheel drive

the LS1 being called a 350, is GM's own fault
the owners manual for my Z28, lists the same thing, "5.7Liter, 350ci V8"

If Ford can call their 4.9 litre V8 a "5.0", then GM can call their 346 a 350

It's all marketing. in 1970, the '396' Chevelles were actually 402 cu.in., but '396' had a street presence and image so they kept it.
