GM re-releasing the 427 ZL1 engine / new marine pcm

i was flipping thru the Hotrod magzine and saw that GM was releasing the aluminum ZL1 engine in a limited run. It looks like they freshed and improved the details too.

What caught my eye was the new computer controller.. What I heard, the other RamJet crate engines use a marine computer that functions on open loop, batch fire, 6000 rpm limit.. Now they say the new marine computer has a higher rpm limit, supports sequential fire, and can run in a closed loop with two O2, although the computer is programmed to only on open loop, batch fire for this engine.

Has anyone done any work with them? Are they easy to custom program yourself?

Umm, is that news a little old? I think somebody posted it months ago.

BTW... the new limited Ram Air ZL-1 will be a 454.

I think I saw on Hot Rod TV where they said GM is actually going to bring a street version of the 8.1L marine motor into production.

With all these high performance crate motors coming out... maybe there's still hope for GM.
