GM Memorial Day Sale?

Was at the dealer the other day checking out Malibus. I'm not in a hurry to buy, was just getting something for my Camaro and decided to walk around and check things out. The salesman mentioned that there were rumors of a big sale/deal around Memorial Day this year.

Anyone have any idea what they may be offering at this time?

I know right now their is a $1500 insentive and i think another few hundred if you own a 99+ GM car. And with the GM flex card their giving $1000 on cars plus the points you accumulated.

Yea there is $1,000 loyalty credit for owning a 99 and newer Chevy. There is also another $1,000 incentive on the Malibu at this time. They are changing incentives across the board tomorrow though, just trying to get an idea of what they are being changed to.

Probably would not get much more than that off...but they are speculating another 0% for 60 months or something similar type deal.

0% for 72 months and I'd probably buy instead of lease for the first time since 2002.

I also need them to extend the lease pull ahead though... 2 months is all but useless, and I still have 5 months left on the GXP.

If there is no better pull ahead offer before my lease comes due, I may seriously look at a Chrysler 300 AWD/ Dodge Charger AWD/ Dodge Magnum AWD, as GM really has nothing in that class/pricepoint.

I've never owned a non-GM vehicle before, either.

Chrysler no longer makes the Magnum after this year.

The current incentive pkg. expires tomorrow (05/21/2008) So I guess something new will be announced on Thursday, just in time for Memorial Day Weekend?

Question

Hmmmm. I'm thinking of picking up a Sky Redline Friday. I wonder what this new sale will be and if I should wait for Monday? Right now there is nothing on them other than the loyalty $1K.

With the rebates and deals going on and the price of gas. I am thinking of trading in my 89 grand marquis (18mpg) and buying a new Cobalt 1LT XFE. I cannot; however, find a cobalt with a manual transmission within 100 miles of me . I haven't even bothered looking further way.
