Too bad the Malibu can't be on there...that would speak volumes for how far GM has truly come...

One proof of the Accord’s ongoing excellence is that through all those generations of models over 34 years, Honda has never felt any need to abandon that brand name. Another proof: 23 10Best trophies in 27 years. Outstanding barely describes this achievement.
They've loved the car for years, so it would be hard for anyone to crack that. The accord has typically been more of a driver's car and the coupe helps that image a lot... so really, as good as it is, the Malibu didn't stand a chance

Way to go GM. Finally some good news!

No 'Yota's on that list?

What beat the Malibu? The Accord?

Will there ever be anything to knock the M3 off its thrown?

One of the criteria is that is must have been on the prior year's list or be a new design/re-design...I wonder if Toyota had any models the met that criteria to even be considered?

Just for kicks I priced out online a Honda Accord EX V6 Manual coupe with options I'd consider (if I were to buy a fwd vehicle) and it ended in Camaro 2SS territory.

2SS ???

Is that a typo or a new designation I've not heard about before?

The model is still simply "Camaro SS." But the equipment packages come in levels. 1LT, 2LT, 1SS, 2SS. It simply ties them to the specific model, rather than simply having a generic name (such as 1SB or similar).

The G8 GXP Coupe *might* have a chance. The M3 is an amazing car to drive, but for the price difference, a G8 GXP would atleast tease. Oh, too bad we're not going to see it here.

Holy moly, it is surprisingly easy to get the Accord into 32-36K territory, isn't it? WAAAAYYY too much for a FWD appliance.

I thought I remembered that was what the G8 was aiming for. Is the coupe still a go with the current situation GM is in? I doubt the Coupe, even the GXP Coupe will knock it off no matter how nice it is...BMW nutswingers

The Holden boys down there like to shoot for the skies. The GTO was a great example - the ride and feel was really not your normal GMNA vehicle. Quality and interior was also much better than GMNA.

Top Gear really tells the whole story though. Whenever they put a Holden/Vauxhall car up to the test they always complain about the brute-ishness of them, but praise them for simplicity and their sheer fun value. They also always compare them to the BMW by default as well.

I've got some hardcore BMW co-workers that I want to test drive a G8 GXP Sedan if/when it makes it to dealerships here.

And the Coupe? Who knows.

C&D has their favorites like BMW 3 Series, Accord and more recently Vette, MX5, and Boxter/Cayman. Those cars are all pretty special in their categories and so unless another car comes in that is really impressive they will stay on the list.

Good for CTS and Caddy as that is a very good car.
