Unhappy GM fast tracking SUV's and trucks...one thing that might be GM's downfall now.....

Gasprices...

think about it, GM dropped the much needed new RWD Zeta car platform for SUV's and trucks..something that if gas is going to be on the more expensive side will be a bad decision???

If the market turns to more cars and car based SUV's and all GM has out is new trucks and SUV's while the others have there new RWD cars and AWD cars that are already out from Ford and DCX...

Dont know if it has been thought about yet but gas prices could kill GM off if they try to recover market share when there is a shirinking market on this and its all GM has to offer....

am I on to something???

You are on to something. BUT....

I think GM's trucks and SUVs will absolutely own the competition. As in putting the hurt on F-series and Expedition sales that Ford could face bankruptcy. Making Chrysler unprofitable again(I doubt that will happen, they make really nice trucks and their car business is on fire). Think of all the money they have invested in their trucks and SUV's. Because its obvious they didn't spend it on their current cars.

It's the same exact thing they did in the later 90's when they had lousy direction and terrible management. Now they're doing it again with this supposed great direction and better management. Except this time there is a real reason not to and other companies are focusing on cars. They just learn nothing.

More GM

Thats what I am saying what if the car market takes off again and cars like the Mustang,300C and Magnum are good examples of the direction its going..with new CARS..and this new market that GM might own becomes smaller and not as profitalbe as it is now...thats what im asking...

But making Ford or DCX bankrupt from it? if the car market is stong they can fall back on said Mustang n 300/magnum's....see what im saying whats GM going to come out with if there RWD program is not out till 5 yrs from now, noo foothole in the door..just a shut door cus the competition is ahead..like Camaro and Mustang..05 is out now...when will the Camaro be out??? see what Im saying...GM is way behind..and only thinking of SUV's and Trucks??
