Meh... Not only is the new stang going to steal the "new car on the road" thunder, I'm not seeing a healthy reception for this charger if it is only the Magnum sedan. Not to say they aren't doing fairly well. But let's not go nuts.

The Charger should be a 2 door.

Can you even get a Hemi with a manual?? And have you seen the price on the crossfire SRT-6's? damn near 50 grand for a drop-top version. Seems like they're picking up a couple of not so great habits from MB/AMG (pricing and overuse of autos in performance application to name a few). .

It's all a part of their once-a-decade turnaround cycle: K-cars in the 80s, then they decline. LHs in the 90s, then they decline. And now 300s in the 00s. Care to guess what happens next?

That is a very interesting (and valid!) observation. In the past it has seemed like Chrysler knows how to come out with a bang but can't fire that just-as-important second and third shot. It isn't enough to introduce great product on just one particular platform and let it run its course. Hopefully they learned those lessons and the "Magnum sedan" spy pics floating around are NOT their idea of a momentum-enhancing Charger.

The kicker of this all is that we have not seen everything Chrysler has to offer! I, too said "put a fork in them, they are done" about two years ago, actually even late last year.

They have lots of exciting products coming out in the next few years. Notice how everybody has their eyes on GM's future vehicles, as well as Toyota to a lesser extent? Chrysler is very very quiet, and that's whats very very scary.

It's not even the tip of the ice berg.

Yeah yeah yeah. Chrysler and Dodges life is in the hands of LX and Mitsu chassis. Much like Ford, they are relying on there other divisions to do the leg work for them.
So far, the biggest hit they have is the Hemi.

They have 2 big hits, and now they are saved! Ill wait it out before I pass judgement. Right now, Toyota is still #3 and coming up fast on #2. When DCX becomes #3 again, thats when they can claim success.

Don't forget Chrysler's F-bodies in the 70s (Aspen & Volare) that also marked a turnaround. Few years later, they went to the Feds for a bailout.

I think Chrysler's turnaround is going to be a more sustained this time unless the economy collapses or fuel prices double overnight. That, or the Mercedes arm of the company ends up like Mitsu and becomes a cash vaccum draining resources.
