There will never be a FWD Camaro.

Flag this thread.... if it ever happens, I will drink the old oil directly from the oil pan of a 67 Camaro.

We have seen some cars come back as front wheel drive. But I sure hope it never happens to the Z. If it does, me and Darth Xed will be doing shots from that ole '67...

That rumor came out before the 4th gen as well. Then the fastest generation of Camaros ever was introduced. Maybe this rumor will result in an even faster generation of Camaros!!

Yeah sure, you guys may have facts, yeah sure, it may be pretty much a fact that the Camaro won't be back AT ALL in 2005, yeah sure, GM as a company is moving back towards RWD...

But I have the power of rumors!

I heard a rumor that Ford is taking over the Camaro name, that they bought it from CAW.

Nah, no facts, but like 4 of my cousins told me that and one of them goes to the Ford dealer all the time, and then he drives past the Chevy dealer.

Just remember me when you guys are all driving around in your 2005 Ford Camaro with a FWD electric motor.

Actually that 4th gen as FWD rumor is FACT!

It was called the GM80 program, and it actually got to within 18-24 months of production! There are plenty of pictures of running prototypes, and Branden and myself have posted information on it within the past year (Branden probally has it on his website still if you look through his archives).

At least there is no FWD Camaro prototype now.

If they want a FWD sports car for the tuner market it will probably be souped up Cavalier but it WON'T be called a camaro.

FWD

I would also like to add my 2 cents. ITS NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. I am hoping that The General will bring back the Monte and Impala, and get rid of those 2 imposters. Even though I may be 1 of the few people on here who actually doesn't mind the way they look so much as I mind that damb FWD they are cursed with. The only problem is they seem to be selling like wildfire, as I know more than a few people that either have 1 or they want 1. As for the F-body, I think most would be more p-od if it did happen than we are now that its gone from production. The only thing I can say is 1983 Corvette, think about it. Keep the faith. Oh, by the way I also like the SSR, and the Bel-Air, and especially the Silverado SS, non of witch should be though of as F-body replacements, only more fine GM products. You may not all agree but that's my 2 cents, we are a very diverse group on here.

A FWD Camaro?

If that was ever built, then someone show me to the nearest Ford dealership. I'll take an 03 Cobra in red, please

FWD

You'll have to hold out on the 03 cobra, last I heard they had to stop production due to engine failure. A buddy of mine gets Autoweek there was an article about it in there not too long ago. I guess fords solution of using an iron block didn't help much. It was also in Autoweek, that they (ford) blew up about 8 motors trying to get the 4.6 to work with the supercharger, before they decided to switch to the iron block. Go to Autoweek.com and do a search you should be able to find it. They did last long enough for all the rags to do their write-up about how much better than the F-body it is supposed to be, no thanx. I would just get a good used Vette, or update an older car. If you can't tell I'm not a big ford fan, however some parts of my family are. My cousins side are all Ford people, and he has an 01 cobra, which I might add he is having some problems with already. He offered to let me take it for a ride, and I did. The seats are nicer than my 94Z, as were the Brembos, and the white face guages, in a race though no way will it beat my 94Z. It was a dog down low no Torque. I'd be gone before he see's his power band. I liked the 5.0's better. They look much nicer now than the earlier restyle did, man they were ugly. I'm not trying offend any ford guys here just my opinion. And we all know what they say about oppinions!

The 2003 Cobra production was stopped for 2 weeks in Oct/Nov due to quality problems on the assembly line, not "due to engine failures".

Sigh rumors.
