Think it could be because og the 2 people that died because of the recall? Not sure, but I heard that it ignites even when the car is off and that 2 people died in a house because they went to bed and it caught fire while it was parked in their garage.

Regarding the media bias, I saw the report of the Ford and Toyota recalls on the news last night. It talked about the recalls while showing 8 different shots of Ford SUVs rolling around, and yapped about it for nearly a minute. When it came time to yap about the Toyota recall, they STILL showed Fords rolling around and said "in related news, Toyota recalled one million vehicles today for faulty parts."

PARTS???? PARTS????????? Can't explain which parts? Not one picture of a Sienna or anything?

What media bias??

No excuse but the following might be reasons that your particular news show decided to cover the articles as such:

~4 million recalled for Ford, ~1 million recalled for Toyota.

Deaths, injuries, and property damage have already occured IIRC from the Ford parts recalled. Have the Toyota parts caused any actual injuries or damage yet? I personally can't imagine considering they say the part breaks when turning at a complete stop, but maybe the person might not realize it and acclerate and then realize a loss of steering? I'm not sure as I don't understand enough about that failure...

also perhaps Toyota plans when to release the recall to seem like the better company, release it the same time a domestic releases a "HUGE" recall so its like, well Toyota is better then Ford

Re: ford recalls 3.8 million vehicles

After a quick search on news.google.com I found 721 articles that mentioned the Ford and Toyota recalls jointly. I found only a handful that only mentioned Ford in the title but later mentioned the Toyota recall as well. Then again I found a 'larger handful' of articles that mentioned the Toyota recall exclusively. The very large majority mentioned both Ford and Toyota together in the title, or just said "car makers recall 4 million cars"... like I'd say over 97% if I had to estimate. The other 3% at least mentioned the Toyota recall in the article and some also had a link to a seperate article on the Toyota recall (such as the one posted in this thread)

Just take an "s" off the end and the results change dramatically.

And even if you don't want to listen to that, maybe you should consider the number of times that the words Ford and Toyota show up on google in any context.
