Ford, Honda Cross Paths On Sales of SUVs
As far as the article is concerned, we all learned in writing class that we should use specific examples instead of broad generalizations when trying to make a point. This indeed is the use of a rather strong example of how the Big 3 have failed to follow the changes in a market that they once owned.
The first thing she says is that she like the way it handles. But what she doesn't say is how much of the trucks capabilities she actually tested. Id guess she is actually talking about the feel of the steering and its response to input rather than its capabilities at the edge of control.
Well did the CRV pass the Explorer or did the Explorer come down to the CRV sales. To me it's no competition but to many looking for basic transportation that gives more room and cargo holding that the Civic with the gas mileage its the better choice. I think the Explorer is one of the best SUV's on the market but like many things it's heavy and too big for what people want today. But they are made more sturdy than the CRV. My Explorer has given hundreads of thousands of miles of good solid use without a hitch. Would a CRV with it's straw sized looking half shafts endure the punishment most likely not but hey most people don't drive like I do and thus the CRV is good enough.
