Ford GT superbowl commercial
Ford GT superbowl commercial
A little off-topic, but it does have to do with an upcoming/future Ford product
.
This is supposed to be a commerical Ford will be showing during the superbowl. Not that this car needs marketing or anything, but it is neat. Kind of goes hand in hand with the clips ProudPony posted.
The GT in the vid is said to have topped 140mph during filming. Track is Thunderhill Park in Willow, California.

Good to see creative and exciting ads coming out of Detroit.

Like you said...
I honestly don't care if it is Ford or Chevy... I just am glad to see the car companies putting gutsy, glamorous, tire-smoking commercials out again.
That kind of ad is what makes impressions on youth... impressions that stick with you for life.
I recall a Mustang ad from 1986, in which there was an old couple sitting in a lone house on the side of a 2 lane road - it looked like it was in the middle of Kansas, with wheat fields as far as you could see. The old guy's drink starts to show ripples. The old lady in the kitchen starts to notice pots and pans shaking gently. The vibrations get more noticeable, then the couple starts to get alarmed. Just as the shaking get really bad, you are led to beleive there is a tornado coming because the wheat and grass is shown blowing wildly in a close up. Turns out the grass was blowing as a black Mustang GT was barreling down the 2-lane at what must have been 100 mph or more. The car sounded awesome. The old couple ran to the front door to look out just in time to see the black car flying past their house, then all the vibrating dishes and stuff got still and quiet. The old guy made a comment to his wife, then you flash to a shot of the Mustang going away from you into the sunset at full song.
I'll NEVER forget that commercial. In fact, I'd love to find a clip of it somewhere, but have never found it yet.
Chevy's car hauler clip ROCKS. The SSR commercial is cool.
These are the clips that guys will remember 20 years from today... not a Vette doing 3mph in a parade.

making an impression on youth or ruining someone for life?i was ruined back when the '93 Z28 came out.chevy had those commercials set to jimi hendrix, with the Z sliding across the screen,HOLY GOD,i was 14 and it was all over from there.then,if there was any doubt,i saw bullitt for the first time around that same time, that was the straw on the camel's back.oh,i love the commercial featuring the previous eclipse.the old man on the side of the road with the broken down truck,a AWD turbo eclipse speeds by and jump starts the truck just by passing, the old man turns around to see the eclipse spin around in the road to face him....that commerical rocked!!!hey,is there a place on the internet to download old commercials??i would love to see an old camaro clip.
