Superbowl MVP Prize

In case you're curious, this year's Superbowl MVP will get the Caddillac of their choice! Yes, this in addition to an embarasingly large salary.

Still, a pretty cool promo!

Also, Caddy is sponsering the half-time show. There will also be Chevy and Pontiac commercials during the first half.

They did that last year as well and the MVP chose the Escalade if i'm not mistaken or it could have been the XLR... but i'm pretty sure it was the 'slade.

What's more impressive is that a Caddy dealership shipped over 400 SRX and 'slades as official Superbowl vehicles to be used by the Superbowl staff. It came on the news here in Houston. All of them were the champaigne color and had a Superbowl decal on the side. They would then be sold to the public later on.

About the commercial. There was a rumor that the cadillac one would have Terminator 3 style liquid steel effects or something similar in nature.... worth checking out.
Chevy will also have one 60 second commercial touting "an american revolution" so hopefully it is a new ad that shows more of the C6.

Pontiac should defintely take this opp. to showcase the GTO.
The Maxim ad was cool. I saw it briefly and thought it was probably some Mini Cooper ad or something... and then read about it on a board and had to check back.. nice.

There may be a grouped commercial w/ a GTO in it, but the cost for a superbowl commercial to advertise a 20k unit car? I don't think its prudent unless its a vehicle that they make a big profit from (caddy, Vette). If GM is showing the country their cars, they will show their most popular cars that those people will tend to buy

You think the Pats could pick me up off wavers and make me the starting half back? I could sure use an EXT!

not flaming but I disagree a little. Ford is going to advertise the GT in two separate ads. I don't think that they are making much profit on the car or are selling the car to the general public, however the tag line says something about flagship for a whole company or something similar and that is just what the GTO is. My point is that the Ford GT is the main "Image" car that will pull the brand... and that is exactly what the GTO is in Pontiac's lineup.

Superbowl advertising costs big money because of the audience and just one ad for the GTO done nicely should bring the halo effect to the car that is Pontiac's flagship model.

I don't think GM would have a GTO only ad.. but like the old ad with "SE* machine" in the desert they can showcase the entire range and in the end show the GTO in a mean spot like the SSR in the Car carrier commercial

Chuck!

Good idea. Can you punt the ball? Ken Walter makes me nervous!!! My son's Bantam Football team has a better punter than him!
