Y'all want me to link this thread to Stangnet, Corral.net, or 5.0Mustang, or Mustang_Weekly and see what we get?

Actually,

I think that'd be a GREAT idea.

I don't think it posses a question of whether the design 'sucks' or not, but whther it would be considered all-out retro, or new, or somewhere in between...

Feel free to link it up. It'd be interesting to get some of our Mustang counterpart's view on whether they feel it to be a retro design or not.

EDIT: I just hope it doesn't tun into a flame-war. But , so far, it's been pretty good.

I think you will get the same results on a Mustang board.

Talking

OK Darth,
One link made... we had 336 views, and 40 votes at 1:40 EST...

Here's the thread in Stangnet's "Pugatory".

We'll see what gives...

They couldn't vote here without registering... DOH!
I set-up the exact same poll there that you have going here Darth. We'll just have to jump over and look from time to time.

Hey Darth,
I guess the shuttle incident and all made for a somewhat lame weekend on the boards, even this one wasn't hopping like usual.

Anyhow here's the link to Stangnet again. The last time I checked, there were 13 votes (76.5%) for "mix of old and new", 3 votes (17.5%) for "full-blown retro, and 1 (obviously a mis-key! ) for "totally new".

I kind of figured from general chat that the opinions would be biased that way. Remember, Team Mustang busts those types of boards alot for ideas/input. It stands to reason that they gave the Mustang crowd what they wanted, so most Mustang owners would likely approve.

If you like, I'll try to link or set-up polls on other Ford boards, but the response will likely be similar.

Man did this thread NOT bust open into the retro war I was expecting...
Maybe we are all growing up and communicating like adults for a change...
NOT!!!

Hmmm... most interesting... maybe the term "Full Blown" puts Mustang loyalists in a defensive posture?!

Maybe it should say just "full retro" or something to that effect.

That probably would have been better... my bad, really. I like to try to keep the voting options 'neutral' so I don't try to influence a vote (like Option One "I like it, it is cool and so am I... Option Two "I hate it, but I am a dork anyway..." kind of thing... ), but I didn't really see "Full Blown" as a negative, but it might be in the eyes of a Mustang Loyalist....

I know where you are coming from there...
I just wanted to use EXACTLY the same headings as you did to avoid "contaminating" the poll body.

Nah, I don't think it is offensive in any way, but in the context of cars like the PT, Prowler, T-Bird, etc... it just doesn't fit the Mustang the same. It all depends on how the reader interpreted it, IMO.

Anyhow, it's all good!

Yes, I saw that you did so on your poll over on the Stang site... very well done, my thanks!
