Here's a thought. I printed out the photos that I published and showed them to family members at a graduation party I attended yesterday. All but one said it was "ugly" and asked "why is there a gas cap at the FRONT of the vehicle?"

The only one that didn't question it was an engineer. How many engineers do you know?
I think the SAE standard is less than a year old. As weird as it looks to have a gas cap on the front, it really is the smartest place. You don't want people driving off with it plugged in. We have an electric cart at work and it always get driven away while still plugged into the wall. Once people get used to electric cars this will not become weird.

Your faulting GM for following standards? You're a fool.

The reason your family members thought it looked "ugly" is because they aren't used to it. Once these kind of cars become more common it will be as unnoticeable as a current gas cap.
