Re: Fiero...

I'm sorry but who the f... buys a Solstice/Sky looking for trunk space? That's like buying an HHR and complaining that the Chrysler Caravan has more cargo space.

No, it isn't. The Miata has more space, and they are in the same market. That's the debate here.

Personally, I'd still take a Solstice over a Miata.

These aren't specialty "Lotus Elise" track toys. They are comfortable, easy-driving, affordable and stylish roadsters that should be able to accomodate a couple and their luggage for a weekend trip. Once the excitement wears off, that'll be a pretty big annoyance to live with.

While the Solstice and Sky elicit emotion and beg you to buy one even if you aren't shopping for a car, this is the type of reality check that's grounding. You're not "shopping" for trunk space, but it seems reasonable to expect something usable given 10+ year-old (smaller) Miatas could manage it.

Yeah, I know it's still hot.

It would be an issue for me too, the same way it would be an issue if Camaro had 2 ft space. I know the car was never supposed to be produced and they bent over backwards to keep the original shape but,,, maybe a hatch back Solstice would have more space? I owned 2 1982 RX-7 Hatchbacks(loved them) and thats what comes to mind when i see these cars. If I didnt like Camaro so much a Solstice GXP hatch back would be tempting were they to make one.

One of the things that is so cool about Camaro is practical every day driver race on weekends throw your bags in the trunk and go performance.

Ok... perhaps I over reacted. I guess I didn't realise how small the trunk was. One thing I love about my 4th gen Camaro is I can throw a set of golf clubs in the back and they're out of plain site. If I can't do that with the 5th gen, it will be an issue.
