I plead ignorance on the Hemi report. It's something I heard form my brother, but doesn't affect me at all so I didn't research it.

The Hemi will be in the new Dakota and Cherokee. What I'm waiting for is the Hemi in the Wrangler

HEMI 6.1:

....and while we're spreading rumors, the 6.1 will be a true HEMI, unlike the 5.7.

Oh yeah,........440 lbs ft of torque.

True Hemi?

Other then the domed pistons, the 5.7 is exact compared to the Hemis of the past.

The SRT version will not only have a 6.1 HEMI....but also.......[drumroll]..........a six speed manual!
After I saw was somewhat said, that works where they produce the panels for DC to put the car together, they said that the tranny tunnel is huge. Doesn't really suprise me, but makes me excited.

Do you mean exact compared to the 426 HEMI's....with the...hemispherical combustion chamber?

Well, from the head pics I have seen, they look as hemispherica as the cambers on the 426. The only diff is the chamber is closed in on the side to reduce chamber volume.

Found this on one of the Dodge sites.

Last night, on Speed... the show Wind Tunnel w/ Dave Despain had a Detroit native who runs a popular website, named Peter M. DeLorenzo... (http://www.autoextremist.com). He mentioned several things about the upcoming Charger... including he has seen it... confirms it is a sedan, but looks ompletely like a coupe... mentioned as well that the big-3 are talking to NASCAR about stock cars, because they all want to enter cars that will have a hard time looking like the current "aero" stock car packages. He then went on to say, the Charger will look hardly like the stock car version of the car... mentioned in his own opinion the car is beautiful, and said like we now already know the car will debut in Detroit next January. However, he said Dodge does plan on campaigning it in NASCAR racing, and it will be rushed into production shortly after NAIAS to meet NASCAR requirements... so we are looking at Feburary 2005 for a release of the Charger as a 2006 model year car, from what he was saying... thought you guys would be intrested!

I'll share this as long as everyone is aware that this is a rumor.

The SRT-8 Charger will have the 6.1 HEMI, as I said earlier. But there will also be an SRT-8 Magnum and 300C....but they won't share the 6.1.......they will have a supercharged 5.7 HEMI.

One more thing...a HEMI V10. It will only be available in the Viper and SRT-10 Ram. Figure MY2007 and 600 hp.

How much truth is there to this Hemi V10? I keep hearing this, but nobody seems to have some solids on it.

That's the '99 concept. The new one will be different.
