E85 fuel

E85 fuel

anybody familiar with this stuff?

I think its 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline or something? Most of it can be made from corn..

Sounds like a good idea.. I think you can get a new Chevy pickup that can run on the stuff?

I remember that stuff. Great idea to help the farmers & decrease dependence on imported oil, but cost was a factor.

As long as gasoline stays as cheap as it is (dollar for dollar it's the same as it was in the late 70s.....that's without adjustments for inflation!) this as well as the production of our own fuel outside of Alaska won't happen. Importing oil on the open market is much cheaper.

Hmm, i just read the costs of E85 would go down by quite a bit if they can figure out how to make the stuff effecitvely off cheese and beer factory runoff..MMMMmmmm.

Maybe someone is working on the "Mr. Fusion" garbage-recycling-power-generator thingee that Doc Brown brought back with him from the future to power the Flux Capacitor and DeLorean...
