Is this a drawing of an '08 'Cuda??
Re: Is this a drawing of an '08 'Cuda??
If this is a low slung coupe and it is much shorter than LX I would say it may be Mutsu Eclipse based. Basically the Avenger/Sebring are due to be replaced so why not a FWD/AWD V6 coupe complete with a V6 Hemi (just for marketing).

Funny you should bring that up because the new Eclipse is 179" long.
And Z284ever did the math already. Venom concept = 185". This new coupe is rumored to be 6" shorter. 185 - 6 = 179
So you might be on to something here.
But i pray to god that if this coupe sees the light of day....that it is Rwd with both 5.7L and 6.1L Hemi's optional (and toss a T56 6spd into the mix). The making of a great Mustang and future 5th gen fighter.

If it is LX based, capacity would certainly be a problem, but...
With the launch of the Charger, will Magnum sales taper off? Could that free up some capacity, or would Charger production fill it up?

Re: Is this a drawing of an '08 'Cuda??
I really don't think this is an 08' Cuda in the drawing. I've been reading reports all over the net that there is a 2-door Charger or two in existence and that it sits in the back of the plant where they produce the 4 door. From what I hear people that work in the plant aren't allowed to bring cameras or cell phones near it.
Also, under what brand would the Cuda come under? Would it be a Chrysler? I dunno, as someone whose dad had a cuda back in the day, it would seem odd without the word "Plymouth" in front of it

I think Chrysler has a patenit on the Cuda name, IIRC.
There has been a rumor that there will be 3 C cars and a lot of people thought that 2 were the 300C and the Charger. I looks like the 300 might not even be one of the Cs. Also, it was rumored last year that there was suppose to be a shorter LX WB vehical that the Charger was suppose to be built on. We now see that as not true, so the question is where did that rumor come from? Also, I think the Cuda has been around for a while bcuz there use to be rumors that Plymouth was coming back. If the Cuda gets a Chrysler badge, then that supports that rumor.
There is a guy on Allpar that works on the engineering side of SRT and he was quoted as saying that there was a manual coming for the LX cars. I would think that if any LX car got a manual, it would be any coupes produced off that chassis.
Guy, there was much rumors about a 2nd LX plant to be built or an exsisting to be converted over to the LX cars back late last year for the Charger. I think they were talking about using some plant in NJ.

Return of the two door variant called the Challenger is out of the bag finally. For those few who caught it at one of the testing grounds, that was the next Challenger model.
Lighter, meaner, coke body design, road hugging two-door, is the next Mustang competition from Dodge. No! It doesn't come with 426-Hemi as the older model did...Muhahahahahaa
More information is coming soon from one of the insider that lurks here in defending some of the Chrysler toys. (Posted this for him) LOL

Re: Is this a drawing of an '08 'Cuda??
Yeah, 'cuda doesn't sound right unless it follows Plymouth and the Plymouth brand ain't comin' back. Dodge 'cuda? Chrysler 'cuda? Nah, the name don't work for me. Of course if it looks halfway decent, is comparable in weight and price to a Mustang and comes with an HEMI and M6, they could call it whatever the heck they want (how 'bout the Dodge Dieter) and I'll buy it anyway!
Personally, I like the name Challenger, but outside of the gearhead community, could this name have negative connotations (i.e. space shuttle)?

A two door LX coupe would be sweet. Could you imagine that 3 way comparo? Ford Mustang GT500 vs Dodge Hemi Challenger vs Chevy Camaro Z28? Cant wait till auto show season!

Who ever said that needs a CAT-scan!
Does anyone with half (or even a quarter) of a brain think that Chrysler is going to keep a top secret car in the back of a plant that employs hundreds of workers? Especially when Chrysler has a secure facility where they keep vehicles they want away from prying eyes?
I suppose they also keep the stamping machines that made this car hidden in the back of the plant as well? And the people who run these stamping machines are locked up in the basement (since Chrysler only made one of these cars) till they need these people again in a couple years to actually make the car, huh? I suppose they have Elvis and bigfoot in the back of the plant too.

"All over the net", huh?

Since you're new here, I'll cut you a break..... plus you made me laugh!

2nd plant? There's supposed to be, but it seems like it takes forever to get things like that approved at Chrysler. There's a shortage of Hemis, yet there's alot of foot dragging to get a new line running. After laying off the number of people they have, DaimlerChrysler is almost lothe to do anything that requires a new plant with more workers.
Smaller LX chassis? Yes, there is one in the works. I was under the impression it was going to be the upcoming Sebring & Stratus sedan replacements, but I doubt it now. Unless Chrysler is making a couple of smaller AWD sedans off that chassis, I'm at a loss.
Plymouth rumor? You are right, that's what kept the 'Cuda rumor alive. But by all indications, there will be no Plymouth line in the foreseeable future. Chrysler is going to be the only thing sold in Chrysler showrooms. Challenger, Coronet, Monaco are the names I hear thrown about, with Challenger being the top one.
