Heh, that's really great. The Hyundai Born-To-Lose concept. Looks like they designed it while they were in a coma and on crack simultaneously. Leave it to Hyundai to constantly answer questions nobody ever asked. Is there really any purpose for those skyhooks on the back? Maybe that's where the wrecker grabs onto it after it flips over. What about that front grill? You can probably fit the tiny little engine in right through there if you ever need to replace it. It doesn't even have a front bumper. I can imagine an NHTSA 5-mph crash test causing $4700 worth of damage. Doesn't even have a B-pillar at all.. I bet it's real off-road workhorse! When SUV demolition derbys become more popular, someone should use this thing and put it out of its misery.

the SS is the major surprise. Just because we caught some last minute pre-photos doesn't mean the other 99.995% of the population has seen it or heard of it.

I think the G6 will be a readymade surprise too. Like, the SS will need minor improvements in people's opinions, but the G6 looks ready to roll IMHO.

I think it just needs a little more plastic.

So far, I'm not as excited about the Colorado as I was thinking I would be. The Canyon on the other hand....not too bad.

In case anyone is interested, our local ABC TV affiliate, WXYZ, has a bunch of free online videos covering the Detroit NAIAS Auto Show, at:

http://www.detnow.com/naias2003/tvcoverage/index.html

You will need RealOne player (free download) to view. I noticed a couple quirks in getting it working, an error came up about where the .ram file was cached on my drive, I hit 'ok', then I had to hit the 'reset to beginning' arrow icon and the 'play' icon to get it to connect and run. But after that it works good (I have broadband and Windows 2000).

The first video has some footage of the actual 2005 Mustang concept unveiling and some discussion by Ford bigwigs. Haven't seen the others yet...
