ran the fastest times around the track and they said the price really sealed the deal on it
it was about half of a comparitive carrera s so that won them over (although it seemed like they were reluctant to admit it since they felt the carrera overall had better handling and interior)

If you read further, the guy felt like the Viper was the faster car. He said if he had more laps to get comfortable with the Viper, he thought it would pull a faster time. So I guess it was a track that favored the Vette.

As far as an adreline rush goes, I don't think you could beat the Viper.

But for the all around package(maybe daily driver), nothing can touch the Vette

 

yea, he felt the viper was faster, but most guys who drove them said the carrera or boxster was the overall best somewhat
you'd really have to see the article to see what me and aron are saying

but yea, i just can't wait til they take a z06 to all these "s" and sport packages of the other models
what's the use in comparing sport models when you can't have the top of the line from each manufacturer?
pretty good though the base c6 can take care of them

 

last i heard the LT1 feels faster than the LS1, even though it isnt. could be the same thing going on here.

 

Err...no. 500hp v10 vs 400hp v8. Viper has 100 horses and 100lb-ft of tq on the c6. The handling and braking are also above that of the non-z06 c6's i would expect. I'm sure it was faster, but it is one of those cars that are very finicky...meaning you have to really know how to drive it to its true limits/potential or it'll nip you in the arseL. I’m sure the c6 is a lot more forgiving than the SRT-10 Viper. Learning curve is probably less dramatic in the c6 I’d imagine too due to that.

So i'm sure the Viper was faster, but they just couldn't really drive it to its potential.

Looking forward to a 3 way c6 z06 vs SRT-10 coupe vs Ford GT shootout. c6 z06 is the real competitor to these cars really.

 

That seems to be the overall feel of the c6.. No real flaws, it has solid numbers, and relatively low price/high bang for the buck - which seals the deal... vs other cars that are slightly faster, or more comfortable, or feel a bit sharper..
