:blah:

Seeing it in red, with a pretty good guess at what the headlamps will look like make me stand by my thinking that this front end does not look like a Corvette... I don't have many issues with the rest of the car... but the front..... it's not ugly (though I still dont care for those little bug-lights on any type of car)... but it doens't say "Corvette"

I think we still have to wait to see a real pic of the actual car with all the hardware(lights, wheels, ect.). I think the way the headlights are done will really be the deciding factor for the "Corvetteness" of the front and maybe the car. I think the headlights should have more straint lines and not be so bubbly. We have less than 2 months until we see the real deal.

I definately agree on everything you are saying here... it's hard not to guess now, with so many pieces of the puzzle out in the open!

I think whats happened is the C6 has different style mufflers that are mounted in line with the exhaust, not transverse, like the C5. Either the mufflers are smaller or they have gained some room under the transaxle to put new mufflers.
The reason I say this is because in the development of the C5 the mules had openings for the muffler vents even in beta testing. The covering had area to disapate heat even in early testing. None of the prototypes Alpha or Beta we've seen have these vents or openings for them. Makes me think the C6 won't have them. In fact if you notice the first spy pics in Autoweek the shots of the C6 from behind shows mufflers comming straight back to the exhaust pipes.

There are a few differences between those pictures. On the ones of the car in the shop, the recessed spots for the side markers are elongated, while the car put together has round sidemarkers. Same with the reverse lights at the bottom of the bumper. Also the front of the fully assembled car looks like it angles sharply inward at the bottom while the pictures of the shell dont appear to have any such sharp angles, it's all smooth, although we dont have a picture at the same angle. I am thinking
(hoping?) that whoever said that the front may have been a piece that has been revised since then may be right. If they get the front of this car right it will be beautiful. The front end of that shell is hideous, it has nothing to do with Corvette. This is a Corvette, not a Dodge Stealth. I am anxiously waiting to see what the car really looks like! I think it will blow us away when it comes time

Am I the only one that thinks the new pic of the "fully assembeld" car has parts of it photoshoped? The entire rear end doesnt look real at all.

And as mentioned above there are so many differances between this new pic and the 4 posted at the begining. That I think this "new pic" was probaly made before they started to create the body work. I could be wrong, but the new pic just doesn't look real.

I like the 4 orig pics better than this new one, so I hope the original pics are closer to reality.

That last pic is a photoshopped C6 that had camo on it while it was testing on the FWY.

Bingo. That pic is old. Makes me wonder if GM or someone is playing a game with us. Putting up new pictures, knowing that we are looking.

Just something to think about...

If these are pictures that GM has indirectly put up for feedback purpose, the trees in the background are sporting full green leaves. Now, if this was taken in the northern region, that picture would have had to have been taken at least 6 weeks ago. I'm not from Kentucky so I have no idea about trees at Bowling Green? This is like the JFK assassination.

Also, if that is an idea of what the headlights are going to look like, I now side with Darth and his 'Pop-Ups Rule' campaign.

I wish all the threads in here were this fun.

Jeff
