I have a buddy who is really upset the S10 went away, and bashes the new twins. So I said to him, have you driven one yet? He says.......NO........Doh. I say give them a chance before you bash them! I think the effects of the bad press GM gets is extremely far reaching. PPL have this mindset where they are quick to jump on GM for anything and everything, even some who may have been GM ppl. That is the case with this guy. Though he does like Mustangs too.

I owned a 97 S-10 ZR-2 for 3 years, bought it new... my wife (G/F at the time) owned a 2000 Blazer LT for 3 years, bought it new...

The Colorado is LIGHT YEARS ahead of them as far as build quality and such....

Just some of the reasons I didn't buy one. Hopefully they'll work the bugs out in a few.
I just may have to stand corrected.

This guy has an........oh I wanna say 85 -89 s10 blazer, which he is still driving I might add! I mean they will never please everyone, it's just not possible. They can't keep the same design forever. At some point ppl have to give the new stuff a chance, and stop listening to the **** in the press. At least if ppl judge the vehicle itself , and not what might be written about it, by ppl who HATE GM! Go to a dealer( OH NO ), and take them for a ride or something. And for GM if that I5 is going to get any respect, ya gotta get some more power out of it. I could swear there was an article in AW, quite a while back, that hinted that 300 hp was possible, now that would be phenominal, and certainly bring some ppl around IMO!

I've never been a fan of the Headlight/Parking light arrangement. Also, I think the angled fender flares look wierd.

It's one refresh away from me buying one. No drivetrain/Interior issues - just personally do not like the exterior styling.

Speaking of light years, it is the truck made the Kessel Run in under 12 parsecs.

Re: Colorado/Canyon...how are they doing?

It still puzzles me that with gas prices soaring, almost all manufacturers have abandoned compact trucks. Maybe it's why the Ford sells so well still. I don't need a huge truck, I don't tow etc. I just need daily transportation that'll haul a dirt-bike and various crap from time to time. Some economy would be nice.
I guess the market for those trucks shrank enough to be expendable.

I knoqw where the quote is from, but the quote has always been kind of dumb. A parsec is a measurement of distance, not time.

How much you want to bet that all the S-10 owners that hate on the Colorado wouldn't be complaining if instead of renaming Chevys latest small truck they left it S-10.

[DORK MODE]
Ah yes. "The Flaw."

Well, see the Kessel Run is an event where you go the furthest distance you can in a certain amount of time... that way... 12 parsecs is an acceptible answer

That's what I love about the design. The angled fender flares look odd without the plastic flares added, but when they're there I think it's a very aggressive looking package.

Actually, It's just the Z71 package I really like. The base models are very neutral to me.
