I don't know what the "SS" concept will be based on, but I suspect it will be a modified V-car.

Johnny, however makes a great case for the use of truck architecture as the basis for a RWD car .

Let me just start by saying this: TRUCK ARCHITECTURE IS COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE FOR THE NEXT CAMARO!!!!!!!

Right here in this forum however, I have heard more than one person's desire for a really cheap RWD V8 car from Chevy. These same people will also express no desire for world class handling or sophistication. They are simply looking for a delivery mechanism that will get them a V8 driving the rear wheels for low $20K.

What better way to do this than with a light truck platform? The SSR/Colorado will give at least as good ride quality and handling as a mid '60s to late'80s GM intermediate RWD sedan.

Now if you could only make a business case for this and a totally modern Camaro.

I want my cake and eat it too! I want a good looking, V8, 2 door, RWD, affordably priced, 2+2, good handling, Camaro!! I think GM can do it. I doesn't need all the extras. Cloth seats are fine with me. Hell, I would even take roll-up windows and manual locks! It needs ABS and A/C and a decent radio, but other than that, I'm good!

That said, it needs to have a well designed and laid out chassis. It doesn't have to have IRS, or anything special like that, but it needs to good enough to handle at least some better than the 4th gen. World class? Not neccesarily. Just good enough to get the job done.

Oh yeah, it has to be fast!!

Sounds like a Colorado based car would work for you.
