Cheap LS1 rwd car possible.
It wont even neeed a V6. Have you seen what the stoxk ecotec block can handle. The heads flow real good #s when ported. A aftermarket turbo kit and some head work and your good to go. GM has said that the stock crank and rods can handle 500hp and 9000 rpms (I do doubt, but they say) LPE has made 1100hp with a stock block ecotec.

Did anyone besides me see a lot of first generation Camaro in the Bel Air's rear quarters? Do a different front end treatment... lower it a couple of inches...

Remember bro, the first generation Camaro was a warmed-over Nova underneath, and I think its the front end of the Bel Air that makes everyone want to puke.

Actually, I think that the BelAir should evolve towards a different direction.
I think from a production and cost point of view one of Bel Air's strong suits is it's reliance on a truck platform and truck powertrains. (That was actually a big reason the concept was presented in the first place).
In another thread there is discussion that a new Camaro will need to compete with not only Mustang...but with 350Z/G35, Supra, etc., etc.....and will need to be abit more refined and sophisticated to do it.
So if Camaro goes slightly upmarket to go toe to toe with some of this new competition, why can't the Bel Air anchor the low cost RWD segment. It can use the Atlas I4, I5 and 5.3L V8 from it's Trailblazer/Colorado/SSR cousins.
Do you think a truck based, 5.3L V8 equipped, Bel Air Coupe for $22K would sell?
That is the big question.
