The 5.0 cammer I believe was originally intended for production, and the displacement may end up in production.

However, don't expect the carbs or 420 horsepower if it does.

Originaly that was going to be the 2005 (S197) Cobra engine.

I think it would make a good Maurader engine (the Fuel Injected Version of course)

Maybe a production version would have the 3 valve heads too--now that the 5.4L engine has them.

$15,000 for 420 carb'd HP??? I'm certain we're all impressed...

How much is an LS6 crate engine? Can't you get a 528ci Hemi crate for 15 G's?

Maybe it's just me, but SEMA has lost some luster the past two years...I just don't see a lot of things that really excite me. That and the fact that production cars are getting more powerful all the time...

Here's where I read about it
http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2...er/index.shtml

The 5.0L EFI "Cammer" crate engine, including the wiring harness kit, will sell for a MSRP of $14,995 and will be available from the 2004 Ford Racing Performance Parts catalog.
...
What's more, harness kits – which include the powertrain control module (PCM) – provide all of the necessary electrical connectors, including end terminals, a fuse box, a power distribution box, as well as switch connectors and fuel pump relays.

well, I guess the question is how much is that wire harness and all for EFI worth? on top of it all I think its pretty cool what Ford has done.. it just seems awefully expensive... does GM have a similar full packaged deal?
