If the Camaro ever got the LS7 they would probably put a 6 speed auto in the Vette and a 4 speed auto in the Camaro...or some other way of keeping the Vette faster....now that I think of it...even though I would love it...nowadays they would probably not even put the LS7 in it....just the LS2.

I dont really care...build a decent looking 5th gen...retro or not I dont really care....just pleeease dont make the 5.3L the biggest available option. We have got to have the LS2 as LEAST as an option. I think they will make the LS2 the only available V8. They almost have always had he same engine as the vette...why change it now?

Whoops, I was wrong.

If the Camaro got a LS7(450-500hp) which won't happen, but anyway for arguments sake then it would be the winner against a base Corvette with the LS2 assuming there is only a 200lb weight difference between the cars.

If both cars had the LS2 then I can imagine the camaro being faster if it has a solid rear axle like it has been for ls1 vettes against the ls1 f-bodies.

A 2006 ZO6 against a Camaro (LS2 or LS7) would get owned.

That is all.

The point is, that when the LT-1/L-82 was in the Camaro...it was standard equipment in the Z/28. The same motors were an uplevel performance option in the Corvette.
Wasn't refering to the LM1 Zs. I was thinking 74 & back.

You could not get a Z28 without power windows, locks, upgraded stereo, leather steering wheel, power seats, etc. These are all luxury items.
actually you COULD get a Z28 without powerlocks, power windows, upgraded stereo, power seats, and t-tops. my friend and i went to a dealership to look at an 01 Z28 it had nothing but a/c...who cares about cobras or mustang SVT. its a mustang they suck IMO i would buy a 2HP camaro over a 9,999,999,999,999,999HP mustang any day... maybe im juz camaro crazy and im the only 1 who thinks this way but hey what can i say? the best is the best. i dont care if it has 50hp more it still aint a camaro its still o beefed up stang that looks like dog poo. bring back the camaro i dont care if the base V8 is 5.3. i just wanna Z that looks good sounds good and can make a stang look like a deformed snail that is retarded so much that half of its slime stuff dont work and it takes it 2 yrs to move more than a coupla feet. thats what the camaro has always been about in my opinion. makin the stangs look bad. yeh we had our ups and downs for a few yrs, but hell in the end *sniff sniff* we beat the hell outa them in speed and handling, an looked and sounded good while doin it. all jokes aside id really love to see a Z with 400+hp forget SS it aint the top dog noway never was til the last few yrs, but then it was just an illusion not really a more powerful car. lets get the camaro back and quit arguing over the engines...cause as far as i know what good is b*tchin bout what engine it should have if there aint no car for it to go into...if we put in this much effort to doin what red planet said about "homework" we might just have a new camaro...so let us focus more on joinin together to get the car back then arguing about what the engine sould be......

I know. I was just referring to the LM-1 and L-48 because they were base Corvette engines.

And when the LT-1 and L-82 were available in Camaro, they were standard in Z/28...and optional in Corvette, over the base L-48, ( L-48 was standard in Camaro SS also).
