thanks for the re-pic Doug

I would have prefered for GM to give that type of ad to Pontiac and have them show a T/A.
Better yet, they should show new versions of the GP, T/A, and GTO with the '69 versions and have some sort of cool tag line.
An interesting note on GM's ad policies...
And after my comments about "who pays for what ads" too... Sheesh.
AutoExtremist.com
With all the ad companies getting an attitude towards the general, who knows what we'll see.

...side with GM on this one......they are in fact getting hosed!
Take a guess how much it cost GM to put a link...a simple link on their website that pointed to a Camaro event that THEY were sponsoring...along with my Camaro Club.....some thing a half @$$ed web person could do in about 2 minutes.............try $4,500.00!! Yes $4,500.00!
It's no damned wonder GM's ads suck big time....over-paid, non-car pepole morons......time to fire some ad agency.....

teaser?
I'm guessing its advertising the SS nameplate for right now. I think that since GM can't say they're going to build a 5th Gen, the best they can do it hint at it. They pictures a camaro, and had a camaro song for a reason. If they wanted to advertise just the SS nameplate, why not have both a camaro and chevelle, or a whole line up of SS's or something. They put a camaro on there to tell camaro people, wait a few years and you shall recieve. GM will not let Ford have a strong mustang seller with no real competition.
Obviously the ad failed with the enthusiast market, because none of us can figure out what the heck its advertising, SS or Camaro, lol.
But if a normal non-car person were to see this, i would think that their first thought would be that its a Camaro ad.

Darth...I couldn't have said it better myself! Any ad that can get this much of a stir out of any group has done it's job well. At the VERY least...it's making you all think Chevy. Plain and simple. Is it advertising the SS sub-brand...I dunno...The Camaro...maybe...All I know is...it's definitely a thought provoking ad.

I saw an ad for Alamo this weekend, that was a brand new ad (it was commenting on the travel difficulties due to the war, economic issues, etc) yet they showed a burgundy T/A being driven off the rental lot!
Now I know they just taped over some "old ad footage", not thinking anybody would notice the models or year-models, but to show a car that has been 86'ed is uncool.
This is along the lines of the post previously made in which the T/A was shown as an incentive for using the GM card and getting bonus bucks.
MAN, will these putz's never stop? The cars have died, and the ad agencies are STILL bleeding their reputation out.

for many reasons, not the least of which is that the Camaro is coming back; The Firebird isn't.

Pontiac tends to be more tight lipped than Chevy. Especially the last few years.
