Lightbulb Camaro ad

I just discovered it this evening, but did anybody else happen to notice the Chevy advertisement on the back cover of the the March 3 Newsweek? I features the back half of a black first gen with this excerpt underneath it:

Go li'l Camaro go
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Go li'l Camaro go
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh

-Ramones

I've seen more advertising for the Camaro since it has been dead than I've seen in the last 5-6 years. This has got to be a good thing...

I've not seen this... I'll have to look for it, but it certainly is nice...

Can't be a bad thing... that's for sure.

And, they actually used the Camaro name!!

They should have used Dead Milkmen....

"Bitchin' Camaro
Bitchin' Camaro
Donuts on your Lawn..."

Or

"When I drive past the kids,
they all spit and cuss,
cause I've got a bitchin' camaro
and they have to ride the bus"

I'm not sure if this makes me happy or pi$$es me off.

Why advertise a car that's DEAD, when you didn't when it was ALIVE?

(Bitchin' Camaro is a funny song...got it on mp3 )

I'm sure that it was a finalist that got cut at the last minute These ads are just the General's way of letting the enthusiasts know that the Camaro WILL return without actually coming out and saying it in black and white. Afterall, why would they spend money to advertise a dead car? I have a feeling that we are going to see many more of these "hint" ads in the near future.

Now wouldn't it be a nice kick in the ol' fanny if they announced a new Camaro at the end of this year to be on show room floors the next model year? Hmmm...

Interesting that they would refer to the Camaro name within a quote. Sounds like a legal loophole to me.

OK, this can be interpreted 2 ways.

1. Theyre teasing us about a camaro being introduced in the near future. (cross fingers!)

2. This is a selfish GM ad for the "SS" program (SSR, Silverado, Impala etc.) and they just stuck a Camaro in there to be jerks.

I'm hoping for the first choice!

What's the name of the Ramones song with that verse in it? I found that Bitchin Camaro song. I like that verse, but the song, well sucks... hehehe Thanks
