C6 Corvette, not in enough colors?

I was looking at the choose your color section of the Corvette part of Chevy.com and I think it is really lacking in colors. I really like it when the Camaro and Corvette had really wild colors only available for a year or two. EX: bright blue and hugger orange on the '99 Camaros, and green on the '98 Corvettes. So anyway, I had some fun and made some new Corvette colors. I actually kind of like the pink one .

The top left and bottom right pastels are fugly...But the others range from damn good to pretty awesome. I like the British Racing green the best.

The 2005 Corvette is available in these colors and has at least one limited to part of this model year:

Arctic White
Black
Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic
Lemans Blue Metallic
Machine Silver Metallic
Magnetic Red Metallic (limited availability)
Millennium Yellow
Victory Red

I'm not sure where you see that list as lacking (save maybe a Polo Green).

Re: C6 Corvette, not in enough colors?

I've said this for a long time now.

ADD MORE COLOR CHOICES!!!

I know the more you offer, the more it costs, but damn, if you don't want to pay an upcharge for paint on a Corvette (Mag Red, Mil Yellow, Le Mans Blue) you have a lousy 5 colors to choose from.

Color selection should be in the 12 to 14 color range.

Seems they're selling every one of the C6's they can make....so why bother? It would only add marginally to the sales figures and each color adds millions in cost.....

Ya, you can't really argue with that from a business standpoint... I guess I just figure for $55,000 or so, you should have a nicer selection of basic things... like colors.

The $85k Dodge Viper comes in all of 3 colors, $140 Ford GT comes in 6, and $150k+ Ferrari's and Lambo's seem just as limited. But I see your point, more options are never a bad thing.

If this is the biggest complaint about the C6, I think it'll be in pretty good shape!

Got to see/sit in a GT here at the Virginia Tech Eng. Expo, and it was BABY BLUE. The color did not mach the car at all. Maybe some liked it, but I think that color shouldn't be allowed near that car.

some of the original GT40's were that baby blue color thats probly why they did that. As far as the vette colors, that one lighter purple looks alot like an old Lambo color.

Saw a silver C6 yesterday. I stopped dead in the middle of the street. Looks AWESOME!! His wife or someone was behind him in a red C5.

I know Lambo's have something like 20 different colors to choose from(I saw a special on Lambo's on that Rides show on TLC). They also have a vast assortment of different color leathers and carpets. The idea is to make your car unique. They even said Lamborgini could custom mix a color for you. I know Bently has a similar philosphy towards color choices. I am sure if you are forking over 200K for a Ferrari, they would offer a wide range of colors too.

I remember reading a loooooooong time ago in Corvette Fever or Vette Magazine ... this is probably around 1994 or so, that when Bowling Green was getting a paint dept upgrade or something to this effect, that they were seriously looking at a program like this.

Obviously , it never came to be, but I always found that to be interesting.

I guess they would mail you out a sample swatch of the color, and once approved, and you signed off on it, they'd build it out.
