I am suprised more Hyundai's aren't being bought. Every single news article I've read is of someone trading in their big american car for a hyundai.

 

Because supporting Korea right now is a big .

 

Is there a break down of what is being traded in my just models and not individual years?

 

Geez, GM has ONE car in the top 10? Does anyone else think that list might illustrate where consumer confidence lies in the auto landscape?

4-500k a year during the early years, that is crazy volume for a single vehicle

 

I suspect the make of the vehicles being purchased is a reflection of how well those companies have positioned themselves as high MPG/"Green" companies in the minds of consumers.

 

I really hope this was a joke.

 

I'm surprised more SUVs aren't being purchased as they qualify as "category 1 trucks" and you only need to see a 5-mpg improvement to get the full $4500 rebate. For instance, my mom's Jeep Grand Cherokee is rated at 14-mpg average. If she buys a car it needs to average 24-mpg or better. If she buys an SUV, she needs only to see 19-mpg or better. So she could trade it in on a new Chevy Traverse FWD.

 

North Korea maybe, last I checked, no North Korean cars or products were for sale in the states. South Korea is a U.S ally and friend.

 

What would be ironic is if one of the top 10 cars purchased was a ford explorer....

 

Maybe if it was next year. 2011 Explorer might qualify depending on what Ecoboost engine it gets.

 

The people who are driving really old explorers probably can't afford something over 29k (MSRP).
