One of the best call out posts ever!
Re: Buickman will call for Wagoner's ouster at shareholder's meeting.
How is that one of the best call out posts ever? Everyone knows C&G is #1 anyway. (Just a joke people, relax).
How many sales of GM are GMS, or discounted through suppliers, etc? It does not make one difference where his sales come from. Just the fact that he can turn sales. I'm in a high area for cell phone sales. That does not mean I can only turn sales because we are busy. I turn sales on my own. I'm willing to bet he does the same.

PacerX,
Gotta love your audaciousness. Have you even seen The Plan? What makes you think I have any interest in running GM? I simply offer my knowledge and expertise in understanding buyer psychology and moving the metal. To prove I'm no politician, here's your direct answers. In the Flint market there are Al Serra Buick, Randy Wise Buick, Patsy Lou Buick, Jim Waldron Buick, and Suski, that one's a stretch, we're a good twenty miles away. MacGillivary Buick and McNally Buick closed. My employee and supplier business is approximately 70%. It's a very competitive market in that the price is fixed by GM. To succeed you must rise above the crowd in customer service. It's the same price to employees at any dealer. One fella ,80 years old, travelled 45 minutes to see me. I thanked him. He said if I moved to Florida, he'd swim through the Everglades to see me. How's that for loyalty?

If his plan is so great....why not sell it to the competiton?
I am sure that would be easier than trying to oust the CEO of the biggest automaker in the world.
Wait a minute, why would a competitor buy a plan to save GM?
I am sure he has great idea's, but honestly I have seen many people post a lot of great ideas.
The problem is to see the whole picture, and the breadth of problems, you have to be more than a weekend keyboard jockey, or even a car salesman. While his solutions may seem fine to me or some other non industry person, there can be 15 reasons each won't work when you present it to someone at GM who actually knows what is going on.
Anyway, I will be watching the stockholder meeting to see how this plays. The fact he has already gotten a meeting has me thinking..

Re: Buickman will call for Wagoner's ouster at shareholder's meeting.
Lots of people have ideas. Sometime they're even good ones. Whatever Buickman's motives are, I believe that he is an agent of change. And change is needed at GM.
No one has yet fully explained to me how the Board and Wagoner decided it was better to GIVE Fiat FOURBILLIONDOLLARS, rather than fight them legally. Anyone want to tackle that one?
LaNeve, in as much admitted that killing Olds might have been a mistake. Oldsmobile's volume has never been recovered.
How much money has GM spent on Saturn? 10 Billion (with a "B")? And another 3 billion in the pipeline? What can GM show me for that investment?
Right about...mmmm...NOW.....I'd like to see some miracles from the GM Board of Directors and Rick Wagoner....or....they all really need to go.
Wagoner can only blame Zarella for so long....and I've run out of patience.

formula79, have you seen the first twenty steps to A Return To Greatness? The executive editor of Auto News did and you saw what he wrote. I've received literally hundreds of repies from across the counrty, 99% favorable. Send me your email and take a look for yourself. Buickman@GeneralWatch.com Let's debate the points, not my qualifications. Besides, you'd lose, I have retailed around 13,000 cars, individually, no fleet.

Sell the ideas to another maker? He's a GM loyalist Branden. Where does the loyality lie then? Sell to the comp? Insane!

How was it NOT a call out post?
Re: Buickman will call for Wagoner's ouster at shareholder's meeting.
You guys ought to go over and check out the posts on C&G, they're making this guy out to be the second coming of Jesus.
I'm still with Pacer-X, its great to have these 20 ideas, but I guarantee that for each one of these 20 things, there are an opposite 20 things that prevent these ideas from happening, because he doesn't know the WHOLE business, ie legal, manufacturing, engineering, etc.

Re: Buickman will call for Wagoner's ouster at shareholder's meeting.
The opposite of 20 ideas are called "Protecting Our Own Asses Pt. 4." The editor? GM Management. They have seen the writing on the wall for years, yet have done nothing to stop this. The fact that the beloved "FBodFather" has chimed in on this should tell you something.
Add to the fact that he's interested in "reading more" should tell you something else. GM Management needs help. NOW.

Again, please stop trolling in my posts, you are really looking like a bit of an asshat. Matter of fact, do me a favor and just don't even mention my name.
I must be lost...because I can not see why Toyota or Ford would be interested in a plan to save GM?...so why the secrecy?
That is my point.
Re: Buickman will call for Wagoner's ouster at shareholder's meeting.
well i don't think they could have "stopped it." the way GM is set up, it take many many months to get stuff to work. once the zarella crew setup and left, there was no stopping the ball rolling. GM could only hope for the best. we have gone over how Ford can make decisions without having 20 meetings and 20 opinions to change the product before it hits the show room. bottom line is that it takes GM too long to make fast decisions and this makes them not very agile in the face of the market.

Waters getting a litle hostile around here, huh?
If the guy's got an idea to help GM recover, I think it's worth a listen. If some of you have already heard or read his ideas, mind filling me in? I'm still waiting for it to be e-mailed.
