I guess I should consider the fact that Autoline Detroit has never heard of Joe Girard par for the course.

"For 12 straight years Joe sold more cars and trucks than any other salesperson. More as an individual than most dealers sell in total. No other salesperson has ever attained this title for more than one year, and not for both cars and trucks.

During his fifteen year selling career, he sold 13,001 cars, all at retail - no fleet, wholesale or used cars*. Most of his time is now spent writing books, giving lectures, and sales rallies."

Have you guys noticed one common occurance? Everytime this thread goes cold and eventually moves to Page 2, Buickman always adds another comment to put it back at the top of Page 1. Just like clockwork.

Now, Buickman, please go away and find another website to bother and let this thread die the proper death it should have long, long ago.

Re: Buickman will call for Wagoner's ouster at shareholder's meeting.

I have all the respect in the world for Joe Girard. In fact, had it not been for him and his insightful book, I probably never would have achieved the level of success I have. Joe was the best Chevy salesman of all time. One could debate selling Buicks as more expensive is more difficult, but no matter. My best year was 970 retail, I believe that exceeded Joe's best. However, he certainly set records that will most likely never be equalled.
As mentioned previously, The Plan contains much more than the first twenty released to prove the existence of a rational and executable set of ideas. I did not reveal much specifically on air and claimed to preserve confidentiality.
I find it humurous how some continue to visit this thread only to complain. If you're not interested, why bother? Seems there must be an ulterior motive...say hi to Rick.

Um I stay in this thread to...........prove your full of yourself? I've said this once and I'll say it again. No matter how good of a car salesmen you are your still a car salemen and the guys making these decisions at GM who you are trying to convice are most likely ivy league hacks who sit and a table with all the facts direct from GM right in front of them, with Lutz their disposal, getting paid millions of dollars, and you sell alot of cars?

I'm looking at what I just said and that was a little rough but it irritates me when people wont leave something to professionals even if theres a chance there going to make a bad decision.

If they are so professional, how come market share has steadily declined for twenty years and market cap has lost 75% of it's value in five years? Why do we now have junk bonds, huge debt, disastrous marketing, far fewer assets, and bleed red ink? Maybe they should listen to a REAL PROFESSIONAL, one who knows how to SELL CARS!

Yes lets have a frickin car salesman make the decisions of one of the United States biggest companies! Theres an answer and your not it, go back to the lot. If I was GM, I would tell you to screw off too like they did before because they say it the same way I do, why would they allow any decisions of a billion dollar company to be made by a car salesman.

"Maybe they should listen to a REAL PROFESSIONAL, one who knows how to SELL CARS!" - Yes, you must be proud of yourself, you can sell GM cars in Detroit! Hell they might as well hand the company over to you. I can imagine it at the water cooler now. "I cant wait, GM's going to turn around now, they ditched the management who studied marketing and buisness at harvard for a guy who sells car in Detroit, this is going to be awsome"

Re: Buickman will call for Wagoner's ouster at shareholder's meeting.

Need a tooth pulled, see a dentist. Want cars sold, listen to a successful car salesman. Fairly simple logic. Nothing to lose, no cost involved. Makes too much sense, eh? Maybe you'd rather see thousands more unemployed and even greater numbers of jobs moved overseas? GM has ample management, what they lack is leadership.
